The route

From the river, into the hills, and down to the sea.

Thailand is large. We fly the long legs, so the days are spent in places, not between them.

Who is travelling

The same route, shaped around who is coming.

Here is what usually changes.

As a couple

Slower, quieter, more time alone.

  • A villa on Koh Yao Noi with only the bay in front of you.
  • Doi Suthep at sunrise, with time to sit and watch the valley.
  • A private longtail to the islands, just the two of you.
  • Dinner on the river in Bangkok, on a boat with few tables.

With friends

Room to be together, and room to split up.

  • A villa on the island for the whole group, with a cook if you want one.
  • A Bangkok street food night, with a guide who knows every stall.
  • A cookery class in Chiang Mai, then dinner you made together.
  • A free day to split up, and dinner together after.

With family

Shorter legs, longer breaks, and things children remember.

  • Short flights instead of long drives.
  • The elephant sanctuary, where children can feed and walk with the elephants.
  • Calm, shallow beaches on the Andaman side.
  • Connecting rooms, and afternoons free for the pool.

On your own

Your own pace, and company when you want it.

  • A guide in Bangkok for the river and the temples, then evenings that are yours.
  • A conversation with a monk in Chiang Mai, at one of the temples that welcome questions.
  • A cookery class in Chiang Mai, at a shared table if you want company.
  • A small resort on Koh Yao Noi, with a longtail and boatman on call.
